About the job opening

We are looking for a Sport Category Manager. Within the e-commerce team, this person will be responsible for marketing its digital sports offer (winter sports and water sports) in Canada to drive business growth and ensure customer satisfaction. Opportunities for growth into leadership roles may be available for high-potential candidates.


What you will be doing

Build the digital business strategy for your product offer on decathlon.ca

  • Establish an annual business plan by identifying business opportunities according to trends and seasons

  • Establish the sales trajectory for its categories and co-write the overall financial trajectory for e-commerce.

  • Identify innovative solutions to boost digital commerce.

  • Provide competition benchmarking

  • Identify and animate the list of the most relevant products

  • Identify the right time for sports communication

- Analyze the economic performance
    • Ensure weekly and annual sales management

    • Expertise in measuring the commercial performance of products, overall site performance and user behaviors

    • Identify and implement transformation levers

- Define the e-merchandising strategy for your perimeter:
    • Co-build the most efficient tree structure for your customers

    • Guarantee the best merchandising of the products in your offer

    • Guarantee the quality and consistency of product descriptions and ensure that they meet the needs of your customers

REQUIRED PROFILE

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant eCommerce experience in Canada

  • Demonstrates functional leadership within the digital team. Also supports other, less experienced employees in their business strategy.

  • Strong commercial profile and customer-satisfaction oriented 

  • Enthusiasm for eCommerce and the sports industry

  • Ability to speak French is an advantage

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel

  • Solid understanding of web analytics and experience in analyzing and reporting on campaign performance and identifying insights to drive better business results and growth

  • Rigorous, analytical, and good with figures

  • Ability to think strategically, plan, coordinate multiple tasks and execute as necessary

  • Very curious, full of initiative, and not afraid to try new things

  • Ability to work with others and build strong working relationships with stakeholders and other teams

  • Ability to travel if necessary

  • Very motivated, autonomous and organized

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-evolving sports environment
